Dear Pinnacle members, We are once again looking for a few good folks to help out with our annual trail run on Saturday, June 7th. Duties include pre-race course inspection, best done with a bike. Two folks for a water station at the intersection of Summer and Pinnacle. A course sweeper to help us keep track of the final finisher. And some help guiding the kids around their course. All tasks will be completed by noon. And as always, if you are thinking about running in the event please do so, we will find enough help. Thanks, Brian [img:7c60f52a7e]http://www.team-pinnacle.org/albums/bc_personal/120x90.png[/img:7c60f52a7e]

I had fleeting thoughts of trying to train for this event this year, but I'm thinking that it might have to wait until next year. At any rate, please sign me up for helping out wherever you think I can be the most useful  Julie.

If there is anyone not planning on running that would like to play sweeper, either on foot or bike, let me know. [img:7c60f52a7e]http://www.team-pinnacle.org/albums/bc_personal/120x90.png[/img:7c60f52a7e]

Sorry I can't bring up the rear this year Brian. From experience I would say foot is best as the pace is slow in the back and if you hang back a bit it gives the last person incentive to keep going assuming it's a racer behind them. Ryan

The log with an arrow to turn off Summer back onto the side trail was lying 20 feet down North Boundary after Big Rock. One person running the trail last night missed the turn to roots off Forest Trail. He was OK on the rest of the trail.

Actually Dana the log with arrow was laying 20 feet down Big Rock trail instead of the 20 ft up Summer from the top of Big Rock to turn to the side trail, clearly someone had moved it. We really need some marshals out on the trails that know the course during the race incase these things get moved again. [b:c58ea6c838]Good Luck to everyone running this weekend![/b:c58ea6c838] Ryan

Thanks for the correction Ryan, that was clearly a mixup of trail names on my part. The trails are looking good and today's dampness should setttle the dust for tomorrow.

Yeh, I was surprised at how dry the trails still were yesterday, the rain is welcome and will as Dana said help settle the trails. Ryan

During the race has never been a problem. Just need to check things out prior to the start. Good warm up for one of the Pinnacle runners. The final markings will be done this evening, so the hoodlums have very little time to have their fun. So far that is the only arrow to be touched, not bad since they have been up for a week. Big thanks to everyone who helped make the Stix a success once again. The hot conditions sure did make it a challenge this year. We have gained 30 racers each year and that does not happen without great volunteers making a fun event for the participants. I will give everyone a few days to recover before bringing up the request for help at the Pinnacle mtbike race  [img:7c60f52a7e]http://www.team-pinnacle.org/albums/bc_personal/120x90.png[/img:7c60f52a7e]
