Mountain Biking Tips:  How to Not Just Survive But Thrive In The Woods!

By Rockboy

NOTICE: By reading these tips you agree that Mountain Biking is an inherently dangerous activity and to hold Rockboy (aka Ryan O'Brien), and Team Pinnacle (aka Team-Pinnacle.org, Team-Pinnacle.org Members and Affiliates) harmless resulting from any injury incurred after reading these Tips.

  • Tip #1:  Momentum is your friend, Fear is your enemy!  95% of all crashes I have either seen or been involved with are the direct result of being afraid and or timid about a situation on the trail. Do the opposite of what your mind is telling you to do. When the trail gets rough never stop peddling even if you need to use your brake at the same time. If you're afraid, pedal HARDER! The most exciting and fun rides I've had are when I'm flying through rough terrain with a Zen like state, quiet mind and body purely reacting without conscious thought.  Momentum is your friend, Fear is your enemy!
