Fellow Pinnaclers, After a several year absence, Bear Brook state park is back on the EFTA schedule. This had been one of our favorite race venues in the early Pinnacle years (my first race ever). I would like to get a good size group together to support the return of this event and help it stick around in the coming years. It is a non-points event which means a more relaxed and fun atmosphere. The race is being held on Sunday, June 1st. Short drive and fun trails, who's in? That was my first race too Brian. Do you remember about how long it was? If I remember correctly there was one long steep hill in the begining but the rest of the course was mostly flat and rolling with some technical. Wasn't it also just one lap on a large course? THere was a set of wooden steps to ride down too.

It used to be a 14 mile loop. Novice did one, sport and expert two. No idea what the course will be this time around, but hope it includes the stairs. The trail leading up to the stairs is a blast. [img:7c60f52a7e]http://www.team-pinnacle.org/albums/bc_personal/120x90.png[/img:7c60f52a7e]

Earlier this year I was thinking about riding it, but I'll be in Maryland that weekend. Hopefully next year.

We'll be marking the courses, long and short, Friday starting at 10am. Saturday will be the best time for any pre-rides. Hopefully they will not have left me in the woods.

The Bear Brook course is marked. We finished around 5pm today. Except for a few spots to be taped race day and Hayes field to be staked and marked race day the course is ready for pre-riding. I would, however, suggest a copy of Kellys' trail map from her web page. Mostly required for the Hayes field portion. http://web.mac.com/kellya/iWeb/Bear%20Broo...t-Off/Maps.html
