I successfully marked out and started cutting a new trail down from the top of Coit today. I'm not 100% sure but I think it will be an easier way down for Novice, either way it will be a fun trail. There will be a couple areas that might require a little massaging to make them a little safer for Novice's, specifically the switchbacks on the way down. I have cut a section at the bottom and a larger section at the top, and clearly marked the rest of the trail. It starts as soon as you pass the high point on Coit (pile of rocks with sticks) and comes into Brake Burner on the lower run out section about halfway out to 3 Rock. I will not be around Thu night - this weekend nor next weekend, but if we could get a group of guys together for an afternoon mid week, a group of 5 or more could hammer out the rest of the trail in 5 +- hours. There is minimal cutting as the trees are spaced far apart for the most part, but there is a lot of debris removal and raking to do as wells as some minimal cutting in and some minor massaging of a couple sort sections. 2 raking, 2 or more cutting / moving debris, and 1 or 2 massaging should be able to get it done in an afternoon. I cut two more large sections on the top and bottom of the new trail today. One person can probably finish cutting the rest of the trail in 4+ hours. I have not raked any of the trail, so there is a lot of raking to be done, plus there are a few off camber sections that will need some cutting in, and a couple corners that will need a little work, and a few rocks that will need a little massaging. The trail is not Brake Burner but it will push a Novice to their limits, expecially near the bottom, perhaps beyond for some. I can't wait to ride it, I think it will be fun for all. Ryan

I will be out there from 9am to 3pm +- today getting the trail ready to race, help is welcome. Lots of cutting in to remove off camber sections and raking to do, plus a couple of minor reroutes. I will most likely be out there a good part of tomorrow as well. FYI, I have all the tools we need. Ryan

Trail is coming along nicely. Thank you PJ for your help today, I was really happy to get as much done today as we did. Ken and I will be out there Tue, and if PJ shows again we might even get it finished up. I have some stuff to do in the morning so we will probably get a later start Tue. Ryan

I will be out there with Ryan from 10-3. I am not sure if Ryan is going to stay out longer. -- Ken "If you brake, you don't win." Racer Mario Cipollini

With any luck we can get the trail finished by 3 and staying out longer will not be necissary. Ryan

Well 3 came and went but I was able to get it done! Thank you PJ & Ken for your help on the new trail, it was as much mental support as it was trail help. Ryan
