Just want to say hello to everyone first

I currently live in Sunapee, and i'm always looking for a new place to ride. Last weekend me and two friends rode the pinnacle trails, and ran into one of the guys fixing up the trails for the race that was supposed to be this weekend. Anyway, the Downhill riders in new england are constantly looking for new places to ride, and sense obviously there is a hill here... Well, i think you know the wrest. The terrain can deffinatley be suitable for a race, and its quite possible to have a 5+ minuet run. All of these things are good things, and what people look for in a race.

I know one of your guys posts over on Bustedspoke.com, and i can assure you, many of those people, including myself and probably 5 other friends would race. One of the reasons that downhill race at Mt. Sunapee hasnt done well over the years is because there is a lack of promotion. Making a thread on Bustedspoke.com, Hcor.net, Ridemonkey.com, etc. Is all it takes to get people interested.

I was wondering if it could be a possibility to do some sort of downhill race next season? What would it take, and who actually likes the idea?

Thanks!

I like the idea, and have a few contacts to make it happen. I however have no energy to put all the work into the race as Team Pinnacle operates 2-3 races per year. We do enjoy the trail work aspect and making a course or 2. Lets get together and try a couple of course possibilities to see if they are "downhill worthy". 5 minutes is a piece of cake, ecspecially if you don't mind a little pedaling. Down side is you have to lug those bikes up the hill to the start.

We will be out there Wednesday night 5:00 on to ride.....Come out if you are up for it. We can talk about further possibilities then.

One day soon we would have to do a couple runs to see if its worthwhile, someone would have to step up and organize the race, though. When you guys want to ride, give us a shout.

Maybe this weekend if the weather is looking decent?

Cutting some trails should be hard. The biggest thing i can see having to cut things for is more technical, steep sections; think rockgardens and chutes. As long as we can get a semi challenging course, that is 2 minuets or more. If we were to actually do this, i could deffinatley get some other people to come for a 'trailday.' The bustedspoke forum's have many people who would not only race, but help put it on.

PJ is your man for course design approvals and setting up the event but I have trompsted around those woods enough to have a few ideas that aren't currently on the trail system and I'm usually available for trail work.

I'm sure PJ and a few others even have better ideas than I.
