Are you tar-twinkies out there getting excited about two legs of the Montreal-Boston stage race going trough NH? Sound like a lot of fun. One stage will go through Henniker, that's as close as they get to us, so we'll have to get a band together. Do you think Team Pinnacle can line up enough finacial backing to go pro by race time? Alone in the woods, who stands to be King?

http://www.montreal-boston-tour.com/en/home.htm OK, now that I'm finally done laughing about the tar-twinkies comment, this is going to be pretty darn cool for the state. The bad part is the NH stages are the Friday and Saturday of Great Glen. I'm already thinking about re-routing the Friday morning drive to Great Glen to check it out. Hopefully in the future we can get a close to home stage. [img:7c60f52a7e]http://www.team-pinnacle.org/albums/bc_personal/120x90.png[/img:7c60f52a7e]

For those that don't feel like googling all this info, here are a bunch of news articles on the race. Here is a link with maps of the 2 NH stages. I'm glad to see official information starting to come to light for this race. I look forward to seeing the finalized routes. I especially like the second part of this quote from Gov Lynch: [quote:e77fc06eb9]"I think it will be great for New Hampshire; great for travel and tourism; great for economic development," said Gov. John Lynch. "I will do everything I can to make sure it is successful [b:e77fc06eb9]short of participating in it[/b:e77fc06eb9]."[/quote:e77fc06eb9] Governor, you're a slim guy, I bet you'd make a good cyclist! Thanks for helping make this Race happen, it means a lot to some of us to have such an event pass through this wonderful state. Ryan

I'm a little suprised by the route selection, thought it would run east of Winnie. I just don't see coming through Rumney and Canaan as highlighting the best of NH (sorry Rumney and Canaan folks). But the route does overlap with our trip to Great Glen on Friday in the Bristol area. So whoever plans on going up Friday, maybe we can delay the trip a little and watch them. I know a really steep backroad climb in that area, we went down it during the Mooseman tri. It appears this race will be going up it. I'd set up at the top of the climb on Rte 118. There are a number of pulloffs on that road plus they are going to get there long before they make it to Bristol.

I figure you will save a prime spot in the field for us (and set up our tents), so I'm in no hurry to arrive Friday. [img:7c60f52a7e]http://www.team-pinnacle.org/albums/bc_personal/120x90.png[/img:7c60f52a7e]
