Anyone interested in a longish ride Sunday? Leave as early as we can tolerate the temps and ride 50-80 miles. Have a short gathering afterwords to enjoy a couple beers, look back and look ahead. We have another gathering at my house in the evening, so we could have access to my place until 4:00 or so. Ride length of 2 to 5 hours. Departure time dependent on ride length. I have to work at Grandmothers......but can do it Saturday.......I like 50 better than 80. Count me almost in. I would also consider trailwork as well. PJ

FYI, weather is more favorable Sat, with partly cloudy skies, but sunday is looking worse as the day goes on 30% rain early going to 60% in the evening. With that in mind I think I'd prefer Sat. Ryan

The majority is favoring Sunday. If you factor in the wind forecast for Saturday it does not look so good. So here are my thoughts folks. Meet at Currier's (that sounds weird), depart around 10:00 to beat the showers coming later in the day. Ride 50-60 miles, I'm thinking about a route Mr. Gurney took us on a couple years ago. It was 10, 114, 4a, then some back roads I do not remember. Mark, would you be willing to guide us that way again? Of course, I am open to any other suggestions also, I know Ken had a route he was interested in trying. Then back to my place for beer and food. I will supply a 12 pack of Octoberfest, some kind of chips, and a grill. Maybe there will even some spririted lawn jart competion, after a couple beers of course. Then I will boot you all out by 5:00 to bring in the next batch of folks coming in. Everyone should wear there green. Good chance to get a team picture and it would look really cool during the ride. RSVP here please, Brian [img:7c60f52a7e]http://www.team-pinnacle.org/albums/bc_personal/120x90.png[/img:7c60f52a7e]

I'll be there. We will look splendiferous in our green. The loop I have in mind is up 10 to 114, down 4A, up back roads past Colby Sawyer into NL. Left on 114, cross 11, down through Sutton, Bradford. Back up on 103 into Newbury, left at One Mile West, up and down into Goshen, left onto LEAR HILL, right back into Newport. The nice thing about this loop is we have multiple oportunities to bail and make it shorter if we wish, it's not a commit-yourself-to-distance all-or-nothing proposition. I'll try to post a mileage estimate from loops, but it looks like a three bottle ride. MG

The route map is up on local loops. It looks like 75 miles, but I was a little lazy with the points so it may be somewhat longer. It's just a giant lake loop, so we can cut it short if weather, hunger, or apathy sets in. MG

Anyone interested in moving the start time back to noon and shortening the ride to 40-50 miles? This will allow the weather to warm a little more before starting and allow a fellow friend to attend who otherwise would have to pass on the ride. The post ride gathering would be from 3:00-5:00 for those who are not taking part in the ride. Brian [img:7c60f52a7e]http://www.team-pinnacle.org/albums/bc_personal/120x90.png[/img:7c60f52a7e]

Fine with me, but I was really interested in having a 60-80 mile ride for the day. Anyone interested in doing a pre-ride warmup? Maybe a ride around the Lear Hill loop around 10:30 to warmup for the noon ride? "If you brake, you don't win." Racer Mario Cipollini

Time and Shorter distance is good with me, 50 is about all I really wanted to do, but you know me, in for a penny in for a pound, whatever people want to do, I'll be there in green. Ryan

I'm in for tomorrow. The noon departure for a 50 (or so) mile ride works best for me ... though I could leave earlier. The route sounds good (with modifications for distance). One modification I would suggest is Kearsarge Valley Road from Wilmont to Sutton instead of coming back into New London. Kearsarge Valley Road is very quiet and was paved this summer.

I have a MTB date with my wife so I wont be attending. Are you boys having a family get together afterwards? N. Alone in the woods, who stands to be King?

3:00-5:00 at my house Nathan. Nothing special, just a pot luck get together to reminisce about the past year and set goals to fall short on for next year. Not sure about the others, but I will have some Octoberfest and wings. Think Ryan was bringing some meat for the grill, and Ken was going to steal some food from the wedding he attended today  Brian [img:7c60f52a7e]http://www.team-pinnacle.org/albums/bc_personal/120x90.png[/img:7c60f52a7e]

Noon will offer a much more civilized temperature, and that is when I will be ready to ride. Ken, you won't miss the extra distance after a handful of HARD town line sprints. MG

OK, time sounds good with me. The only thing I could get from the wedding was chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies. I was given this offseason diet to try out, so they are all gone now. "If you brake, you don't win." Racer Mario Cipollini

I was thinking departing from my house, but the high school would be better. If we started from here we would end the ride on a bumpy climb and wet road, no fun. We will form a train to my house afetr the ride for those who are attending. Mark, you made my foot hurt just mentioning a sprint. But I will give it my best, someone needs to make you guys feel strong. [img:7c60f52a7e]http://www.team-pinnacle.org/albums/bc_personal/120x90.png[/img:7c60f52a7e]

I didn't say I was sprinting. I said Ken wouldn't miss the distance if he sprinted. I just might sit up and spin, and enjoy the wisdom that comes with my advancing years. MG
