Hot, dusty, hilly (very hilly!), my kind of race. Having never seen this course until lap 1 of the race, I went out harder than I should have. About half way up the first of three very impressive climbs I realized these hills were made for pacing and spinning, not attacking. Once I settled into lap two with some course knowledge to help shape my strategy, things went pretty well and uneventful. I got up to 5th during the third lap, but slipped back to 7th during the last lap. Nothing went wrong really, just lack of training the last month caught up with me in the last 30 minutes.

Very happy overall with 7th, especially after 2 DNF's. Very fun course that I would recommend for next year.
