Hey all, Our annual June events are fast approaching. The weekend of June 16-17 will be a busy one in the Newport town forest and we could use your help. On Saturday Six in the Stix will kick off at 9:00am. Looking for a couple folks to help out on the trails. Need someone to do a pre-race course inspection and play the sweeper role. Also would like to have someone up in the water tower area to marshal there, then move down to Snake Alley exit to get them again. Help with tear down and clean up is appreciated also. On Sunday will be the Pinnacle. This race needs the most help from our Pinnacle members. Saturday afternoon/evening will be field layout and registration setup. Early Sunday morning will be final setup and course inspection. First race wave (novice/sport) goes off at 9:30. We will need a couple people in the woods playing marshall, a few folks to help with timing, and a couple to hand out water. Wave 2 (expert/elite) starts at 11:30 with all the same volunteer tasks. If you are racing in the novice/sport race, please consider transferring into a timing role for the expert/elite wave. And of course any help with tear down and clean up post race is much appreciated. Thanks, Brian [img:7c60f52a7e]http://www.team-pinnacle.org/albums/bc_personal/120x90.png[/img:7c60f52a7e]

Brian, I will be around. I might run the Six in the Stix but will definitely be around to help before and after and with the Pinnacle. Unless there is something you would rather me do on Sunday I am happy to run the Kids mtb race. Ryan

I have Aaron, Jeremy, and Andrew coming down from Hypertherm. Andrew is racing Novice then helping with Expert/Elite timing. Aaron and Jeremy are each doing one stint in the woods and one stint timing. Mark has laso said he would be around Sunday doing whatever we needed. I don't have a lot of time between now and the races but does anything need to be done in the woods for the races? Ryan

Trails are all set to go Ryan. Lots of smiling faces coming out of the woods this past weekend. I have the kid's loop pretty well cleaned up. A touch more work and getting it marked and you will be good to go. I plan on lining both sides of the approach to the Plummet with tape this year to clearly identify the adult course. Starting from Tobaggon all the way to the Plummet to help keep spectators and the kiddos clear of the race path. I'll get that done Saturday afternoon. There will be a couple small openings for you to cross over the kids course. [img:7c60f52a7e]http://www.team-pinnacle.org/albums/bc_personal/120x90.png[/img:7c60f52a7e]

I'll bring the generator but that means I'll be working that area which is fine. Less mosquitoes. Also I want to put up some of the 3' 4' 5' pass signs and banners. PJ can you put them in your truck along with some tie strips.

I have a party to go to at noon in Newport. I can help at Six In The Sticks until about 10am (or later if I bring clothes to change into). I don't have any conflicts on Sunday so I am available to help doing whatever you need. Please let me know specific times & locations to be at both days and what I'll be doing so that I bring the right supplies (BUG spray and CHAIR). ~Julie.

Julie, For Saturday, you could go up by the water tower area with your bug spray and chair and play marshal. Nice to have someone there if anyone needs to report a boo boo. Race starts at 9:00, runners will probably be there shortly after. Last runner/walker will be through by 9:30. For Sunday, timing area will more than likely be the biggest need for help. First race starts at 9:30. Thanks so much for offering your help again this year, Brian [img:7c60f52a7e]http://www.team-pinnacle.org/albums/bc_personal/120x90.png[/img:7c60f52a7e]

Got it. I am happy to help. I think it would be helpful to have a list of cell phone numbers to hand out to volunteers in the event that we need to notify anyone.
