Another race, another dry course. This race season has been the best conditions in years, let?s hope it keeps up for a few more weeks. The Sunapee race was on the same old course that we have been given for the last few years. Boring to ride, but OK when racing. I went out easy to start and rode a pace that could be held for the entire race. This meant watching the front of the pack race away with hopes they would come back later. Ended the first lap 5th overall after several riders who went way above their fitness the first five minutes quickly faded. Picked up a couple more places over the next two laps and started the final lap 3rd overall and 2nd in class. The leader in my group came into sight about half way through the final lap and I got by him on one of the climbs. This was the only time I changed my pace as I did not want to give him the chance to latch on as I went by. With a small gap established I settled back into race pace to the finish a few minutes out of first overall and few seconds ahead in class. The bike needs some work as a terrible creaking sound from the BB started during the first lap and kept getting louder each lap. By the end you could probably hear it from the Pinnacle. Time to start preparations for Great Glen, keep an eye on the forum for soon to be scheduled night rides. [img:7c60f52a7e]http://www.team-pinnacle.org/albums/bc_personal/120x90.png[/img:7c60f52a7e]
