Finally a nice sunny day for a bike ride, I mean race. The North Shore Classic in, hard to get there from hear, Topsfield, MA was a muck fest any MTB minded lad would love. Little climbing, not much technical and loads of racers to really pound the living shit out of the Ashby State Park trail system. And oh boy did it take a good walloping. The first lap was nice, although the mass start ment lots of bodys to navigate, but the trails were fast. By the second lap all 700 hundered racers, or so it seamed, had had their go and the trail was a sucking, ozing bubbling body of brown gook. Even the many grass fields we passed through just sucked the energy right out of your body. Needless to say, I got passed, I passed some and even had a little race within the race at times. Rolled in at a respectable time only having kissed one tree and no mechanicals, so it was a good day. The shower line was silly so I jumped into a frog pond, bad idea. The mud came off, but I came out with more slimy green vegitation on my bike then I had going in. I didn't wait to see how I did, had to get back for Rogers 62 B-day party! Alone in the woods, who stands to be King?
