I ripped off my rear XT last night on top of Pat's Peak just before the downhill. I learned my bike does not like being a single speed, it kept jumping up gear and locking up my rear wheel. I'll be doing repairs most of the afternoon and may end up getting out later tonight locally. Happy trails tonight, Nathan

your a better man than I. You can take the lead, I will be staying dry inside and live to fight another day. Unless of course the rain stops.

I was out there, enjoying the lovely weather on the trails. A Newport high school student, A.J., also showed up to see what the Pinnacle had to offer.
Most enjoyable, avoided the mud bogs of roots and skunk hollow, basically stuck to pine link, lower loop, barton, south boundary, etc. Slick roots, but other than that everything was in great shape.

Sorry I missed you Aaron. I was hoping the rain would slow down or stop, NOT... and figured I would be the only one out in the rain so I didn't get out there until closer to 6:30pm. I figured if I was going to get wet I might as well partake of the full Pinnacle course loop so I started from my house did the whole loop back to the high school and then back up and over to my house 10.3 miles in total. Despite all the rain we've had I thought the trails were surprisingly firm, wet, but firm, other than the usual suspects. Roots wasn't too bad, all the bad spots are planked, if you can stay on the planks. I expected Skunk Hollow to be worse, but it really wasn't that bad, the worst part was some of the stuff I cut last year and the nearby old ledge section. I'm not sure if I got more wet from the ground spray up or from the rain falling.
Definitely keep you in mind for next Wednesday's sure to be slosh fest.
