We (the promoters) of the Fort Rock Revenge want to inform all racers about the new stipulations we have been confronted with concerning the race. We signed on at the promoters meeting at the end of last year to once again stage an EFTA/NECS race at Fort Rock?.Rest assured, we are still committed to this. Unfortunately, we were not informed of the new ?rules of the game? until well after we made the commitment with EFTA. The rule that affects us the most is the postponement policy. In essence, it states that the race will be postponed if we experience heavy rain leading up to or forecasted for race day. The ?powers to be? have the ability to call the race that morning. This is not an option for us as it would be a logistical nightmare. We plan on making the call on the Thursday before the race. In the event that the race is postponed we will try again on September 27th. We know that this is uncharted territory as far as mountain bike racing is concerned but our hands are tied. On a positive note?..course conditions will be near perfect when we do race. This year we plan on offering a challenging course, Cash for elites and a free raffle ticket for all racers. Top prize?..KHS single speed bicycle. If the race is a go on Aug. 2nd then Pre-registration will open up on the Thursday before the race on BikeReg. There will be no additional charge for race day registration. Thank you for your understanding. We are still going to proceed as planned all the while praying for a drought.
