If we meet at the mountain parking lot there will be plenty of room for parking. If the weather is good who is up for a tailgater after the stage? The smell of burgers or dogs on the grill will get Mr. PJ really pulling on the second half of the course and I could draft him all the way back saving my energy for the final sprint. Not sure if the timing and darkness will be an issue but I thought I would bring it up for discussion.

Not a bad idea.........I am in. Could also be convinced to drive down the street and have someone cook and pour for us. We will have plenty to talk about, ecspecially if I am able to pull till the final sprint.

Yes having someone else cook and pour after a hard effort would be a good thing. As long as the others in the pub don't mind how we look and smell I am for it.

I think that Sandy and I will do the lake loop on the 27th. We may require a head start. Cath and I would be happy to do the burger/beer thing at our house ( 20 Edgemont Rd, 1/4 mile from the finish ) which would eliminate the smell factor. sounds good to me too. Maybe we should park there and use that location for the start/finish. Then we won't have to drive to eat.

We can get there early and show everyone where to park up top. Looks like fun. It will be a good finish as it ends on a fast uphill sprint. On a KOM point........we talked about where is the top of cardiac hill. Well not too far off the road at just about the top on the right is the end of an old stonewall, It sits about 4 feet high, with neatly stacked rocks, that is your top. There are a couple more further up with a chain across them, but that is not your top, it is the one previous. Top 6 there get points. I am thinking 6pm start to give time for everyone to get there, but 5:30 is fine too. Tim and Jason come from furthest away, so their input would help picking a time. Oh and post your damn prologue times ; ) I can't play scenarios out in my head without knowing where I stand. PJ

The pack will stay together all the way to Dewey hill, then all hell will break loose. Someone will go off the front hard forcing the action. Climbers will react and we will split up into 4 groups. Top group will stay away until the finish, while chase group 1 and 2 will try keep it close. Chase group 3 will keep fighting to hang near chase group 2. Chase group 1 may lose a guy on the climb before 89 and 103A making chase group 2 pretty solid, and chase group 1 a little weaker. The lead group will not be caught, but chase group 1 and 2 will merge into another group at the top of cardiac hill with new blood. This new chase group will do well and finish less than 2 minutes behind the leaders, while a few straggler groups will come in close behind. Chase group 3 will be just a few minutes behind them. Winning group- 1:01 group splits up on rollers near end Chase 1- 1:03 (2-3 guys) Chase 2- 1:04 (2-3 guys) Chase 3- 1:06 Chase 4- 1:08 (splits in groups) Chase 5- 1:11 What group will you be in?

I'll be happy just to finish with a hopefully respectable time. I make no predictions other than Julie's group will surprise themselves by finishing strong. Ryan

Joan and Al ( who we last heard of on this site as illegally helping Sandy at Job's creek --- in the pedals start and a pace bike --- I think that a 1' 58" penalty is in order ) I digress...they are riding. Joan is bringing some "healthy" food so watch out for that. Catherine and Rosie are also mounting up. The women have arrived. And, at the bottom of this screen it is written "oldest first". I took that as an omen, not that the oldest finishes first but that he/I should start first. Well in advance so as not to miss any beer at the finish. A dance is the best you could come up with. I won't dance for my wife, there is no way I am dancing at the end of a ride, atleast not without the aid of some spirits. -- Ken "If you brake, you don't win." Racer Mario Cipollini

Complicated programming dilemma to solve after the start but before you mount your bike... advantage Wiley. Mike, it was agreed way back that one could have assistance to steady the bike on a standing start for the time trial, also Al didn't help draft Sandy, he just happened to be on the same road at the same time and kept his distance, no advantage there. I guess you will just have to ride faster. By the way I swear I saw a series of townlines on Jobs Creek that day, perhaps that's what did it. We will find out today if it was simply an anomaly or the real deal. Ryan
