Ken, You mentioned riding Sir Climbs Alot, I was going to propose doing that on Memorial Day weekend. We can kick around the exact day for going - Sat/Sun/Mon. I just want to put it out there for discussion. I am willing to go unsupported, I am sure that there are plenty of general stores or gas stations along the way for fueling up? Tim

That sounds like a good idea, but I can't commit to anything this early. As it gets closer to that date I will let you know. Since the ride pretty much goes right by my house in Claremont, we could start there. Then when we get back from the ride, we could cook some burgers on the grill. There might even be some drinks available. -- Ken Wiley "If you brake, you don't win." Racer Mario Cipollini

Not sure I will be ready for that kind of ride by then, but I'm in. Ryan No support needed, but if there are a bunch of us it might be a good idea to have someone on standby incase there is a mechanical issue we can't easily fix on the road.

This Century is more to my liking. The vertical is somewhere around 7'. http://northforkcentury.com/Home_Page.html "there is nothing half so much worth doing as simply messing about on bikes (sic)" Grahame Greene from Wind In The Willows

I'm thinking we need to push this ride back a few weeks. Memorial weekend is only 10 days away. If you guys are all set on that date, I'm out. I'm thinking middle of June some time. Ryan

FYI, I am still up for a ride that weekend say 60 - 80 easier miles. I can't ride Sunday but Sat or Mon work. Ryan

Tim, you still up for Sir-Climbs-A-Lot?? I'm thinking Sunday is good. Plan on cooking some chicken and burgers and my wife plans on making some of macaroni salad. Anybody else up for it?? Just tell the boss your celebrating my birthday for a few hours. I turn 27 on the 30th. -- Ken "If you brake, you don't win." Racer Mario Cipollini

FYI, if you are riding the entire Sir Climbs Alot, plan on at least a 7 hour ride time plus stops, probably another hour +-.

Ken, How about Monday? I was thinking of doing Bear Brook on that Sunday. On that thought the mileage for Sir Climbs alot, may be too much after racing Sat? Ryan is available Mon, too for a 60-80. Tim

OK, sounds like other people aren't available for a ride that long this early in the season. 60-80 sounds good to me. -- Ken "If you brake, you don't win." Racer Mario Cipollini

Ryan has a WindMill 56 loop. If we ride that, but add in the Lake Sunapee RR loop, that would probably be a good ride. Start/Stop at my house. It shouldn't be too hard, Ryan and Dana have already ridden it once this year. http://www.team-pinnacle.org/local-loops/loop.php?loopID=325®ion=9&sport=1 -- Ken "If you brake, you don't win." I was just looking at the loop and was going to suggest it with a slight modification to tack on a few more miles, you beat me to it. Sounds good. Start time> Monday/9am earlier/later???

Perfect!! We just need a number to know how much food. I can pick up burgers/chicken/hot dogs etc for the grill, put in your request. And settle on the time. Ryan says 9a is early, want to make it 930a, 70+ miles will take 4-5hours that puts us back around 2-ish

That works. 9 or 9:30 whatever works for the group. Chicken and / or Hamburgers sound good to me. I can bring rolls and beer. Ryan

Duhhh... I showed up at Ken's old place in Newport. I figured I posted too late, and you guys had already headed out. I apologize for my brain fade, and I'm sorry you guys waited for me. I hope you all had a good ride - the wind was a bit of a challenge, eh?

Mark this is too funny. Usually it's other parts that go before memory. Now that I think of it you have been stopping to pee more often too. Welcome to Masters Racing.

Mark, As usual I was a little late getting there so it was more me taking my time and thinking Mark would find his way. I tried calling you twice but you must not have had your phone, either way you might not have wanted to continue your ride all the way to Claremont, although you probably could have intercepted us in Unity somewhere. Hard ride for me, I was just recovering from a cold and haven't been on the bike in a 4 days. The first hill was really tough but I eventually got up to speed. Heading back to Claremont on 11 was into a nasty headwind, that was unpleasant but other than that the company was great and the day was perfect for riding. Despite Tim & my best effort, we could not seem to beat Ken to a town line, at least when he was trying or new it was there. I came close once but close doesn't count in cycling. Ryan
