Time to lock in a date for our annual trip to Burke. The date being proposed is Tuesday, Sept. 16th. Rumour has it we may explore the mountain trails some this year. Brian [img:7c60f52a7e]http://www.team-pinnacle.org/albums/bc_personal/120x90.png[/img:7c60f52a7e]

Works for me too, but I can change the date on short notice. In case it rains. Or it's too hot. Or too cold. Or too windy. Or it snows. Whatevah. MG

Looks like that date is do-able, kids are in school, wife is at work, yeah I can make it. Alone in the woods, who stands to be King?

I have van and trailer, can transport 6 folks and their gear. Would like to depart by 7:00 am if that is possible for everyone. The trip is about 2 hours, this would get us on the bikes by 9:30. Plan on a slightly longer day than normal as we want to explore the mountain trails a bit this year. We will shorten the Darling Hill loop (where we have always rode in the past) a bit to make up a little time. Remember your $10 for a trail pass. We will meet at the Newport rec. unless the rec. director has objections. Post ride food? There is a store in the village that makes great sandwiches or you can pack your own grub. Bring something to refuel between loops. [img:7c60f52a7e]http://www.team-pinnacle.org/albums/bc_personal/120x90.png[/img:7c60f52a7e]

High: 67 ?F RealFeel?: 74 ?F Mostly sunny and delightful[/size:03bb777e30][/color:03bb777e30] Hope this holds true. Bit of rain between now and then, hopefully not enough to muddy up the trails much. [img:7c60f52a7e]http://www.team-pinnacle.org/albums/bc_personal/120x90.png[/img:7c60f52a7e]

Slight change, it looks like we will meet you at the parking lot up there, (the trails, not the rec) planning to be on the bikes for 09:30. See you up there -Jason

This was a great ride as usual with excellent weather (good choice of days). Sidewinder is still the best and I wish we had done it a couple more times. I would have preferred to stay on the lower side for a few more hours. To much time on tar to get up to the mountain single tracks and I was not all that excited about those particular trails. Other than a few brain cells that once lived in left front corner of my brain, but now reside in the right back corner, the rest of my body is intact with a couple of raspberries. That gravel pile was a last minute mistake. I rode the Pinnacle trails last night for about an hour and a half while connecting with jason (wobblyspokes) and his sister Shannon (first time out). The trails have quickly dried since the rains.

I had a great time and generally felt better than years past. My vote is still for Sidewinder but Tap & Die was fun too. I'm in agreement with Dana, about the tar. I enjoyed Dead Moose but not the access to it, although going back the tar was much more enjoyable. I get why we don't usually go over there now. Ryan
