I unfortunately can't make it but I was out there 2 weeks ago and the trails were sweet in spite of the rain. I can't say what they will be after the latest deluge, but with some of the bridge work out there the trails seem to avoid getting overly muddy now. White trail is still a blast! Have fun, Aaron

Brian, Most of the group that is not running is doing 24 Hours of Great Glen or is out of town for other reasons. Ryan

FTB...I would be happy to ride Cornish with you on Sat AM...BUT...I have no idea where the trail head is, etc. as I have never riden there before. If you can point me to the starting point, I am sure together we can figure out the woods. I have a GPS if need be. Rockboy (others??)...any interest?? I still want to try the fence loop someday. Javy When in doubt, ride

This is from one of Ryan's other posts: Here is a map & info: http://www.team-pinnacle.org/resources/mtb-locations.html. The map is an oldie but goodie.

I'll be out of town this weekend. The map Dana linked to is the most up to date that I am aware of. Like Dana says it's an oldie but a goodie. I have never rode from one of the designated starting lots as some of the Cornish Crew live near the Forest and we ride from there. It's my belief the main parking lot is off Paddy Hollow Road. FYI, I drove up there once and did not find the parking area but didn't have the map with me and wasn't 100% sure I was in the right location. If my recollection serves me correct, I went as far as a big sign that says Private Drive but it is my belief you need to continue further up the Private Drive to find the parking lot. There should be a car gate near the parking lot but might be on the trail side. Hope this helps. FYI, here is the link to the actual map: http://www.team-pinnacle.org/media/pdfs/2001CornishTownForest.PDF Ryan

Thanks guys - we'll meet up next time I'm up. Good luck in your races. Javy - I've never been there either so we need to iron out a parking location. I'll print off that map and see what other directions I can find. I broke the rockers on my 5-spot: [img:e262e2c52a]http://pics.bikerag.com/Uploads/data//510/IMG_2454.jpg[/img:e262e2c52a] [img:e262e2c52a]http://pics.bikerag.com/Uploads/data//510/IMG_2453.jpg[/img:e262e2c52a] so I'll be riding my 40 pound Bullit around - please take it easy on me.... Stearing by IMPACT in search of FLOW

Ryan and Dana, thanks for the help!! Have good weekends! FTB...let's meet up at Claremont Town Offices off of Route 120. Do you know where that is? ALternatively, we could meet at Walmart. We can then either drive one vehicle to the Forest, or follow each other. You like early, correct? Maybe meet at 8 AM?? What do you think? Brian When in doubt, ride

FTB... Thanks for showing me how to do small drops and glide across slippery wet roots and mossy rocks...and how to cross wet narrow bridges. And how to climb (and climb down) mini walls of earth (6-feet tall) that go straight up/down (full of the above-mentioned rocks and roots). Now I am all ready for the Hellride :D . Good times!! Seriously, thanks for a great ride! :o Brian When in doubt, ride

I'm assuming that you found the trailhead... We ride there every tuesday night (ride kicks off at 6pm). If you'd like to ride there again during the week, the more the merrier! glad you had a great time! www.masonracing.com www.gtbicycles.com

Yeah - we found the trailhead alright... after about an hour of "which way should we go" & "where are we on this map" & "I think this way is north"...etc....  . Good stuff - Javy & I have some memories of being lost in the woods together. Actually we are quite good at it  . WTG - Thanks for the PM on how to get into the trails - I think we saw the trail that would take us to your "IN" on our way out but wasn't sure so we took the definite "crazy steep unridable way" Great ride - I LOVE these trails!!! Will DEFINITELY be back (Sept.) Hopefully my 5-spot will be running good then - I pretty much brought a Bazooka to a knife fight today and my legs are feeling it now. Great trail system! Thanks B Stearing by IMPACT in search of FLOW

Ok...here is the deal... From Claremont take Route 120 north to Townhouse Road (a left), then take a left onto Chase Hill Road. Go about 1 mile to a pull-off parking lot on the right. Get your biking gear on/together. It is my understanding that this is where you should park every time you ride in Cornish (regardless of what day of the week it is), and no, you can't see the trailhead from the parking spot. Once you park, ride right out of the "lot" and go exaclty one mile to the intersection of Jackson road. Take a right (up hill). This will go by a house on the right and then sweep to the right. Continue up the hill, and a bit over half way up the hill look to your left and there will be a break in the stone wall. Cross the stone wall and you're there! there are 5 different loops built in the woods, and in random spots there are maps. Everything is very well marked (trails are by colors... red, white, blue, orange and yellow). just remember that everything is a loop and you'll be ok. The above directions were provide by Jay of Cornish...thanks Jay! When in doubt, ride

Jay & Javy, It's my belief that entrance to the Cornish Town Forest is through private property and is not for general public access. Ryan
