Bri,

I will come out if I can get the green light here at home. We have all kinds of family events to attend next weekend...but not at 8 AM. Haven't heard from you in quite some time. Hope to see you on Saturday.

I got the green light. I do have to come home by 11 AM or so because my wife says that she is getting a pedicure and I need to be home for the young children.

Thank you and good day!

Sorry, we are going to miss you. Trails are in good shape. Careful on the Plummet as it is still washed out from the rains.

We will be licking our wounds from our Friday night escapade at Moody Park.

Nice Bri - see you in the AM. I have to be out around the same time to get ready for a wedding so that will work out nicely...

PJ - sorry the rest of you can't join - if things change B&B will be at the H.S.

Bri - great to see you again - as always awsome time - sweet trails. Unfortunately had to cut the ride short due to the call of nature  ... BUT rockyboy I definitely gave you a run for your money with the fastest trip down the pinnacle :o Thank god for the portajohns

Looks like some serious skinny possiblilities near the top of the pinnacle - Let me know if you need any advice on how to make them - thats something I'm well versed in 8)

also first time up Coit dab free for me today

see you guys soon

Brian,

We have all those large pines down in that one area on Barton Woods if that is what you are refering to "serious skinny possiblilities". I wood love your advice and or supervission some time on the best utilization of those trees. It seems like with some minor menuvering of the trees you could have an awesome course, thing is those suckers are HEAVY.

Yeh, any advice you have would be great.

The trails are mint, they don't get any better than this!

Rockboy - thats definitely the area (someone has already set a plank onto 2 smaller logs). at that section - there are 2 very long blow downs. This is where I would start (basically to get your skinny on  and learn how to ride them) - those 2 are fat enough that it wouldn't require much "flattening" until you get to the end. I only walked alittle way onto them so I'm not sure what the on's/off's would be like at the far end. It looked to me like you could make 2 and hopeuflly be able to ride them in a circle.

To start off - I would just knock off all the branches on the top and sides (they seem pretty dead so I don't think you would need to cut many of them). Its key to move them away from the logs (as well as anything else you could impale yourself on) in case you need to prematurely abandon skinny  ... I would think once you get down towards the other end you will need to flatten the tops a bit - this takes the most time - just make cuts every 3-4 inches down the tree (would be real easy if you have a chainsaw otherwise you have to do it manually) then take a hatchet and knock out the 1/2 moons (they usually pop right out). or just nail some of that chicken wire on it (not my preference)...

as far as the on/offs at the other end - you probably have some options:
1. Wheelie drops (although that make them only ridable in one way) or
2. build some type of ramp (rock preferably because it lasts the longest) OR a wooden ladder (this would be the coolest) and it seems you guys are permited to have wooden features -

Some key points:
* try and get the skinny totally off the ground - they decompose real fast if they are touching the ground.
* Don't make them to easy - you'll be thankfull after you get some skills

Can't wait to see what you come up with! I'll post up next time I'm coming north - hopefully you can join and we'll look at them together.

Thanks for the ideas Brian. Could be a while before we get to this, got several other unfinished projects at the moment and little time. Question, how do you get the logs off the ground, or move them period? I was thinking a cumalong might work but don't have one "yet".
