Anyone want to get towed by a Horse? Ski-Joring is happening on this Saturday December 17th. There is a superb rider who has a horse, all they need is a daring skier. The skier gets pulled behind a horse, more like water skiing on snow. If you are interested reply here or contact PJ Lovely at the Newport Rec.

It looks like Nathan is stepping up to the task. Beth asked for the "B" team but she's getting the "A" team. A real Team Pinnacle photo opp in the making. Anyone with a super fast digital camera out there, mine is too slow to get good action and I'd love to get some pictures to post.

The event starts at 11:30 am this Sat. I have just enough time to see the first round of competition. It's going to be cool, like a real Warren Miller movie in the making in our own town/region. It's hard to beat that.

The ski joring was a big hit! I had a blast!
Local Croydon cowboy Curtis Lively riding Smoke hauled me around a "J" course with 3 jumps, about 8 gates and 3 jousting rings. I'd like to say we were good enough to get Third Place and earn some $$ to pay down on entrance fees, but truth be known there weren't many folks there.
It got kind of wierd when the horse people started pulling out guns and shooting ballons at full gallop, I had to make a break for the hotdog wagon.
My old buddy Bill Ryan, who was officiating, reasured me that the mix of skiers and equestrian was not at all natural but worked well none the less.
So wax up your skis and hook up a horse pull 'cause Winter Carnival is coming with multipule days of SKI JORING!
