The ski joring was a big hit! I had a blast! Local Croydon cowboy Curtis Lively riding Smoke hauled me around a "J" course with 3 jumps, about 8 gates and 3 jousting rings. I'd like to say we were good enough to get Third Place and earn some $$ to pay down on entrance fees, but truth be known there weren't many folks there. It got kind of wierd when the horse people started pulling out guns and shooting ballons at full gallop, I had to make a break for the hotdog wagon. My old buddy Bill Ryan, who was officiating, reasured me that the mix of skiers and equestrian was not at all natural but worked well none the less. So wax up your skis and hook up a horse pull 'cause Winter Carnival is coming with multipule days of SKI JORING! Alone in the woods, who stands to be King?
