It's that time of year when the snow has melted away in the open fields but still lingers in the woods deep enough to hinder MTB riders for weeks to come. Yet in good old NH there is still one sure fire place that holds the white gold for us die hard skiers, "where's that?" you ask. Why Tuckerman Ravine, the most historic name in American ski history. Just a short drive away.
Missed out on last years annual Team Pinnacle Tuckerman Trip, well don't let it happen again. The snow is going fast with only a few week left to sluice the Head Wall.
This years date is 4/14, [i:f9c72297d2]weather permitting of course[/i:f9c72297d2]. So mark your calender and don't miss out.
"But I can't ski!" you say. No matter, the carnival like atmosphere in the ravine on any sunny weekend is worth the experience. Think trailer trash in the wilds of NH at high speeds with sharp objects. What could be more entertaining?
PS: BYOBB (bring your own beach ball)

Tuckermans you say? Sounds inviting for sure. Not sure I got what it takes to hike up but it sure would be worth the trip down.

I was just up on Sunday. The hike up was fully covered by snow and most every run was skiable.
It's a mere 3-mile hike to the floor of the ravine, from there you can hang out and watch the follies, make turns on the lower angled terrain or go for the steep stuff. Any way you go it's a nice ski out down the historic Sherburne Trail, which as of 2 days ago went to the parking lot.
If we have weather like last Sunday, it will be a great day of high energy entertainment.

Yes, Sunday was a great day. I hiked through Tucks to check out conditions then continued up and over to Oaks Gulf to ski some chutes there, then hiked over to Gulf of Slides to cap of the day off with a ski all the way to the car. Lots of hiking, but I love an adventure! Besides the snow was about 1"-2" of corn the whole day with a slight breeze and lots of sun. It doesn't get much better than that. N.

We're looking at a May 5th Tuckerman Trip.
With 17" and high winds last week followed by a welcomed high this week it seams that the skiing will be around for awhile.
Any Takers?
